Amethyst Creek Cottage
places you at the heart of majestic mountain views, hiking trails, whitewater rafting, arts and entertainment, and a sense of timeless serenity.
Our cottage is located just 15 minutes from Asheville, a center rich in art and craft heritage, galleries, boutiques and thriving nightlife. Downtown Asheville is ripe with art deco architecture that recollects the pre-depression 1920s heyday. Points of interest include: the historic Biltmore Estate, a prominent example of the Gilded Age; the Basilica of St. Lawrence, with its opulent edifice and self-supporting elliptical dome; the timeline museum Smith-McDowell House; and the expansive Botanical Gardens at Asheville.
Asheville is located at the convergence of the French Broad and Swannanoa Rivers, in a plateau bordered by the Blue Ridge, Great Craggies and Black Mountains on the east and the Great Smokies chain of the Appalachians on the west. The local area offers endless opportunities for outdoor excursions with destination gems such as: the Blue Ridge Parkway, Black Mountain, Lake Lure, Smokey Mountains National Park, Cherokee, Hot Springs and Nantahala Outdoor Training Center.
